A single-player iPad game I developed in my spare time. My wife loves match-3 games, so I started with a match-3, and since food is adorable, I went with a food theme. Development plus assembling the art assets took two and a half weeks in total, and the app store review took another week.
Gameplay:
- Match three or more identical foods.
- Line up 4 identical foods and you get a Spicy Food; when it’s cleared, it blows up the nine tiles around it.
- Have 3 foods lined up both horizontally and vertically at the same time, and you get a Cross Food; when it’s cleared, both the row and the column blow up.
- Line up 5 identical foods and you get a magic Lollipop. The lollipop can be swapped with any food, and every food of that type on the board transforms into it and explodes together. So satisfying.
- Your score is tallied once every 50 moves.
Match-3 is addictive by nature — how high a foodie level can you reach in 50 moves? Come eat, uh, I mean come play and see!
