The new Battle.net for World of Warcraft still hasn’t shown any sign of life today, so let’s try a few new games instead. Remember playing The Sims years ago? That cookie-cutter AI really wasn’t much fun at all, and I got bored of it fast. If an online version of The Sims ever came out, I’d be rolling up my sleeves and would definitely have to give it a go. And what do you know — Yangbo Network recently put out a 3D online life-simulation game: Life Online!
Life OL is China’s first 3D management-simulation online game. While doing its best to keep the essence of The Sims, it also brings in a whole range of online game elements.
Life OL doesn’t simply move The Sims onto the internet; in some details it even goes further than The Sims. What’s even more of a pleasant surprise for veteran Sims players is that Life OL delivers true DIY: from your avatar to the exterior of your house to the interior decoration, whatever you want your house to look like is entirely up to you!
In Life OL, there’s no longer the endless killing, grinding and PK of traditional MMORPGs. Instead, it takes the mechanics of single-player management-simulation games as its foundation and adds the popular community-interaction model, building a lifelike online life whose core gameplay is planting, raising livestock, running a business and socializing. It pioneers a user homestead system: starting from a small house, and later, as the user’s wealth accumulates, gradually growing into a highly show-off-worthy personal estate, villa or castle! In the game, users can live all kinds of different lives, fulfill their life’s dreams, and experience all sorts of pleasures that reality can’t give them.
This June, the single-player classic The Sims 3 and the Life OL pioneer test shine side by side — this June is bound to be a joyous celebration for every Sims fan!
