Warcraft Chronicle: In the explosion of the Well of Eternity over 10,000 years ago, Mount Hyjal in Kalimdor survived, and Illidan released the waters of the Well of Eternity into the lake at the mountain’s summit, turning it into a new Well of Eternity. Later, the red dragon planted an acorn from an oak tree in the new Well of Eternity, and it grew into Teldrassil_ the Crown of the World.
Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos: The map shows the World Tree standing in the new Well of Eternity atop Mount Hyjal.
But in WoW, Teldrassil, where the night elves live, is in the Great Sea. Why?
Answer found: I really was ignorant. Nordrassil and Teldrassil are two different trees. The one at the original Well of Eternity is Nordrassil — the Crown of the Heavens. Teldrassil is Darnassian, meaning Crown of the Earth — it isn’t the tree on Mount Hyjal.
